First Edition
Original wraps. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Founded in 1914, the Tinker Toy Construction toy set has long been a classic favorite of kids in American and around the world. The simple wooden construction sets were a forerunner to Lego, K'Nex and Lincoln Logs. Following on the success of the Structo toy line, Tinker Toys began to catch on to the burgeoning toy market for "brainy" kids. Tinker Toys were a significant part of the early 20th Century recognition of the need for thinking toys. This time also saw the birth of the market for mass produced toys in general. Lot includes dealer catalogs for TinkerToy products of 1935, 1937, 1940 and 1942. Each bound in original stapled wraps. Stunning graphics and early depictions of the original cyclinder containers that Tinker Toy made famous (for easy shipping at first). Each catalog features the standard Tinker Toy sets as well as Tinker Beads, Dolls, Sand etc. A scarce lot of early toy catalogs from one of the most recognized brands in the business. We find only ONE copy of the 1937 catalog available on OCLC. There are "0" copies listed from the other three years.
