This comprehensive history of the Twenty-Second United States Infantry covers its service from 1866 to 1922. Originally prepared by Major O.M. Smith, the narrative was expand…ed by Captain W.H. Wassell to include the period from the Spanish-American War to 1904. Captain Daniel S. Appleton brought the history up to date, while Colonel John McA. Palmer and Major William R. Smith edited and prepared the work for publication. The preface is signed by G.C. Graham, captain of the 22d Infantry and adjutant. This volume provides valuable insights into the regiment's operations and contributions during a significant period of U.S. military history. Book images are non-contractual.
