Wrapped in the original onionskin wrap, with closed tears along the head/tail edges. Fully bound in the publisher's brown cloth, with gilt ornamentation to spine edges, blind tooling and gilt lettering to front board. Boards have bumps along the front and rear surfaces, light stains along the head edges, and mild wear along the extremities. Textblock has very minor soiling on some pages throughout, and light foxing and adhesive stains along the end papers. Gilt edges. Shelved in Room A. Yaddo is an artists' community located on a 400-acre estate in Saratoga Springs, New York. The estate was purchased in 1881 by Katrina's husband Spencer Trask, and converted into an artist retreat by Spencer and Katrina in 1900. Yaddo remains one of the leading retreats for visual artists, writers, musicians and dancers. Textblock has minor foxing and adhesive stains to end papers, light soiling on some pages throughout, light plus stains to fore corners of pages 161 to the rear pastedown, in some cases the stains slightly cover text but it does not impact legibility.
