Schule war, im J. 1605 geboren, erhielt seine Bildung unter seinem Vater auf den Gymnasien zu Neustadt a. d. H. und Hanau, und scheint dann durch Vermittlung von Gerh. Vossius Erzieher im Hause der Grafen von Isenburg geworden zu sein. Da Vossius' Versuche, ihm eine Professur in den Niederlanden zu verschaffen, fehlschlugen, so ging P. nach Kaiserslautern und errichtete dort eine lateinische Schule, wurde aber ? noch nicht 30 Jahre alt ? am 17. Juli 1635 ermordet, nach der einen Ueberlieferung bei der Eroberung der Stadt durch die Truppen des Generals Gallas, nach der andern durch Straßenräuber. ? Die Zahl seiner schriftstellerischen Arbeiten ist eine sehr bedeutende, er gab den Musaeus 1627 heraus, in demselben Jahre den Herodian, und das ?Mellificium Atticum?, 1629 den Quinctilianus, 1631 Heliodor's Aethiopica und Lucretius und schrieb Animadversiones zur Sallust-Ausgabe seines Vaters, die noch jetzt von Werth sind. Von seinen historischen Schriften ist die: ?Universalis historiae profanae medulla? 1631, die ?Universalis historiae ecclesiasticae medulla? 1633, vorzüglich aber die ?Historia Palatina? 1633 zu nennen, welche die Geschichte der Pfalz bis 1630 behandelt.
