Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. The copyright page states First Edition. However, the Number Line goes down to 2 not 1, so this is a second printing. Albert Hadley has signed and inscribed the book on the half-title page. The inscription reads: 'For Wendy Dewey-- With great pleasure! Albert Hadley.' I've rated both the book and the dust jacket Near Fine mostly because I equate 'Fine' with perfect. The book and the jacket are, in fact, quite close to perfect. You can see that the red covers are perfectly clean. The spine and spine edges look terrific. So to the corners. The black lettering is very bright. The edges look very good. There is one white speck on the bottom edge of the front cover and two white specks on the bottom edge of the rear cover. I don't see any staining on the page edges. The book is square and very solidly bound from cover to cover, with nicely tight pages, no binding issues. The illustrated end papers are perfectly clean and show no wear at all. The 182 pages that comprise the book can be described in an identical manner. Finishing up, there are no markings anywhere in the book. No attachments of any kind. And with the exception of Albert Hadley's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. I should mention that the photographs perfectly capture the lustrous interiors. I've owned this book for a good number of years and have always had the jacket in a fitted protective cover. The protective cover is in very good shape so I'm not going to replace it. You'll notice that the 1st and 4th photos (front and rear of dj) are shot at an odd angle. That was how I triumphed against the stubborn glare off the protective cover. Very proud of myself! Continuing, I'm not seeing any soiling anywhere on the jacket, and I'm not seeing any tears. I think the jacket is pretty close to perfect. The flaps are black. The lettering there is white and red. I don't see any soiling or wear on the flaps. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. 'For more than half a century, Parish-Hadley Associates has been synonymous with classic American elegance. Their distinctive blend of comfort and style has set the standard for interior design in a wide variety of settings, including the Kennedy White House. In this lavishly illustrated book (168 color photos), America's most celebrated interior decorators at last reveal the secrets of their timeless and unique style.'. Inscribed by Author(s).
