Alan Robinson is a controversial figure in Western Australian shipwreck history. In this book, he claims to be the true finder of the wreck of the Dutch ship Gilt Dragon (Vergulde Draeck). The wreck was the first Dutch-East India ship found off the Western Australian coast. In the same year, 1963, the Batavia was also found.
