Small Quarto. 78 (2)pp. Original dustjacket with photomontage, red lettering on spine, over yellow wraps with publisher's device and black lettering on cover. Publisher's device on title page. All photographs with brief captions. The first photograph shows German soldiers crossing the border to Poland followed by shots of various military detachments in the field and the air, an attack on Warsaw and various scenes signifying the end of the Blitzkrieg. Starting with page 16 through page 29 the photographs document the march of the Germans to the West Wall including the actual fortification but briefly veering off into the attack on Norway involving Army, Navy and Air Force until Norway's capitulation. The bulk of this photo-documentation is reserved for the march to and the fight in the West, including battle scenes involving the German Army and Air Force ending with the taking of Paris. The final ten pages are reserved for the attack on England including German flak units to defend against air attack with some pictures related to logistics, respectively political conferences. Credits for the photographs are listed on the last page including Heinrich Hoffmann, Associated Press, Scherl, Weltbild and some 50 photographic correspondents. Both dj flaps feature publications of the publisher. At front an edition with poems during war edited by Sigmund Graff and an edition on retrieved German land with numerous contributions edited by Otto H. Spatz. Text in German.
