Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. The Jesus revolution was happening in the early '70s in California and all across America. Two nuns from St. Louis went to Notre Dame College in Indiana and swore they would not come back without the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. They did come back to St. Louis and started an underground movement in the Catholic Church, which spread to every denomination. Megachurches sprang up, like New Covenant, Grace World Outreach, Church on the Rock, Life Christian Church, St. Louis Family Church.Every Day Is a New Beginning is the story of Pat Tyrrell and her journey to find peace and happiness in a world drastically changed since her childhood. She was born into a family that had just gone through the Great Depression prior to World War II. Money and jobs were scarce. Her parents were self-employed and started a business with two brothers and their families, Clark Water Well Drilling in Fenton, Missouri. She was the last of four children, born sixteen, fifteen, and thirteen years before her.She was the apple of her father's eye and the product of a very strict mother, who taught her a very strict moral code and carried her into the Methodist Church when she was very young. In spite of this, life happened, and she graduated from Lindbergh High School and went off to Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri. She graduated after four years with a bachelor's degree in music education.Never quite content with her life, she was always searching for the meaning of life and her purpose but never quite finding the answer. She was quite disillusioned with teaching and felt marriage and children were the answer to happiness, but that, too, became overwhelming when being a stay-at-home mother with two small children 24-7 became quite lonely. A teacher's salary was not enough, and her husband began working two jobs to make ends meet. Crying out in her kitchen-"God, if you are real, come into my life right now! I can't stand it one more moment alone"-brought answers through knowing and discovering Jesus was the answer she had been looking for. Life took on a new meaning and purpose, and ministry opened up with lots of wonderful new friendships.
