Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. The book is bound in cloth with title and outline of London stamped in gilt on the front cover. Covers are soiled/foxed. Corners and spine caps are bumped. Book has a light musty smell. There is a 2" tear and several other smaller tears on the cloth over the joints. .125" tear on the front hinge at the bottom edge. Name of previous owner and book plate of the "Dyer Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies- New Hope-Bucks County- Pennsylvania" on the front paste-down. There are 8 large fold out maps tipped in two by two between pages. Most have closed tears at the bottom corners by the gutters for likely having been opened in haste. The largest is three inches. Some have been taped by a previous owner. All maps are intact and present. Otherwise, pages are clean and unmarked. The Binding is firm. Profusely illustrated with drawings and photographs in black and white. There are two colored maps ,folded in a large envelope, loosely laid in. There is a pocket for these maps on the back paste-down, but they no longer fit in. These maps are completely intact. A news article from the New York Times Magazine ""New Way of Life in Britain's New Towns" dated February 29, 1958 is also loosely laid in. 12.25"X 9.75". Please see all images.
