Frontispiece, 243, (1 blank) pp. Later tan half leather, spine with blindstamped decorations in compartments and two red leather-labels, patterned boards and marbled endpapers. Rough-cut edges. Front wrapper is preserved. Bookplates of Bertil Börjesson and of Swedish professor of botany Nils Fries (1912-1994). Spine is a little worn at one of the raised bands and has a few small specks. Spine and top portion of front board are slightly faded. Corners are a bit bumped. The front wrapper is a bit toned. Contents are fine with just a few small scattered specks. Illustrated throughout by Uzés [Valentin Achille Lemot] and G. Lampuré. This copy is no. 45 of 100 printed on papier teinté, numbered and signed by Georges Hurtrel.

L'action de ce roman historique se déroule à Bayonne, ville natale de l'historien Édouard Ducéré (1849- 1910). Tirage à 500 exemplaires numérotés.
