    Couverture rigide. Condition: Bon. Paris, Éditions Sulliver, reliure demi-cuir, environ 21 X 14.5 cm,1951 et 1951 (sans l'ordre), 367 et 264 pages, illustré d'un frontispice et deux planches de fac-simile dont un dépliant. D'après mes recherches ce Journal devrait comporter 3 volumes mais ici on a relié le premier et le dernier en omettant le second, je n'ai pas d'explication et ne possède pas le second journal. La reliure est en bon état, le cuir est sans usure mais les plats montrent de l'usure aux arêtes. L'intérieur est en très bon état au niveau de la forme, propre, complet et solidement relié sans pages ou cahiers lâches, mais le papier fortement jauni et comme il s'agit d'un exemplaire retiré d'une bibliothèque on retrouvera en début de volume quelques marques et cachets de biblio, ainsi qu'un cachet sur les trois tranches des pages. Enfin il y a quelques résidus d'un porte-carte au dernier contre-plat.

In soft plain paper covers with coloured pictorial wrap, titles in green and black, a little edge spotting. Spine with titles in black and some short edge tears along joints. Internally, half title with limitation to verso, coloured frontis, title page with coloured vignette and some text in green, [8], 9-134 pp, [1], [1], [5] tables, 3 full page illustrations, 29 within text, no inscriptions, printed by Jean Foucher et Cie, a La Rochelle, France, an edition limited to 690 copies of which 310 were coloured, as is our copy. Langle was a French vicomte, académicien de marine, naval commander and explorer. He was second in command of the La Pérouse expedition, which departed France on 1 August 1785 and was eventually lost in the Pacific.
