Gift quality first edition 1914 hardcover in navy blue cloth covered boards with bright gilt titles and near perfect paste-on plate of 'Don' on frt board. One tiny light mark 1/2" down from head of frt board. Two micro spots on paste-on plate. Spine ends barely bumped, tips still sharp. A presentation copy from the author to his cousin with an additional turn of century Christmas card laid in also signed from the author. Hinges fine, 274pp text is tight, crisp and unmarked with six full page plates. Book now fitted with a removable acetate clear wrapper. A lovely book told in the voice of 'Ben' about his life & upbringing plus various horses and other animals he knew along the way. Exceedingly rare volume in collector condition.
