Also three letters to Fairfax Blakeborough on the subject of rat and sparrow clubs and historical bounties on vermin.

The first edition, first impression of the work.With nineteen monochrome plate illustrations, including photographs of a North Yorkshire hound trail, of Sir Reginald Graham, and of the author himself. Collated complete. Several of the plates bear facsimile signatures of the persons depicted.Featuring an introduction written by Sir Alfred Edward Pease, 2nd Baronet, a British Liberal Party politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1885 to 1902.Scarce.John Fairfax-Blakeborough was a prolific writer on horse racing who had produced more than one hundred books on the topic by the time of his death in 1976.Sporting Days and Sporting Storiesis a series of personal recollections stemming from the author's experiences in racing and hunting. It provides a detailed account of some of the customs, practices, and traditions historically associated with these sports. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally, attractive barring fading to the spine's cloth. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities. Offsetting to the free endpapers and a previous owner's inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are a trifle age toned however clean, with moderate foxing throughout, heaviest to the outer leaves. Several leaves remain uncut. Very Good. book.
