Blattgröße ca. 32 x 19 cm. Im rechten untersten Eck hs. numeriert "2288".- Erwin Pendl (Wien 1875-1945), Sohn des Bildhauers Emanuel Pendl, war auf Ansichten und Veduten, insbesondere von Wien, spezialisiert. An der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien studierte er unter anderem bei Hermann Burghardt. 1896 war er das erste Mal…mit Altwiener Architektur-Aquarellen in einer Ausstellung im Wiener Künstlerhaus vertreten. Er nahm zudem an der Milleniumsausstellung in Budapest und an der Schubertausstellung in Wien teil. Als Mitarbeiter des Kaiserjubiläumsprachtwerkes "Geschichte der Eisenbahnen der Österreich-Ungarischen Monarchie" und "Die Großindustrie Österreichs" schuf Pendl über 200 Illustrationen. Er zeichnete auch für die Zeitungen, Festschriften und Bücher. Er war zunächst in Wiener Architekturateliers tätig, wie bei Alexander Wielemans von Monteforte und im Burgbau-Atelier. Gemeinsam mit Hugo Darnaut schuf er das Bild "Wien aus der Vogelschau". 1906 wurde er auf der Weltausstellung in Mailand mit der Großen Goldenen Medaille geehrt. Ab 1912 wurde er als Mitglied des österreichischen Künstlerbundes und ab 1924 als Mitglied der Kunstgemeinschaft Wien genannt. Ab 1920 fertigte er mehr als 800 Aquarelle und Zeichnungen für wissenschaftliche Konzepte an, unter anderem für "Die Donau durch Österreich".
