Gilt lettering on front board panels, brown stamped lettering on spines. Board panels are lightly soiled in general. Spines are sunned. Edges at head and tail of board spines are creased and crimped. Fore-edge corner tips are rubbed through, other board edges are scuffed but holding. Upper page edges appear to be tinted, side and lower edges are untrimmed and age-darkened. Previous owner's signature in the decorative panel of front paste-down in Vol I. Frontispiece with tissue-guards in both volumes. Numerous full-page plates.
