ÒBecause of the historical significance of Mr. PeplerÕs letter, which reveals many unknown incidents, including some which concern the beginnings of GillÕs interest in wood engraving, it was decided to publish the letter as an STA keepsakeÓ (foreword). Bookplate to the front pastedown of Dunstan & Anne Pruden. Damp stained throughout, mainly to the lower outer corners and also to the upper inner corner. More heavily stained to pages at the rear. Bookbinder's ticket to the rear pastedown of T.B. Merrett Guild of Glos Craftsmen. Bookplate stained. Dunstan Pruden was a silversmith in the Guild of St Joseph and St Dominic at Ditchling. The bookplate was designed by Philip Hagreen.
