Ouvrage rempli de détails curieux sur les méthodes des inquisiteurs et les croyances de leurs victimes, principalement des Cathares. A work filled with curious details about the methods of the inquisitors and the beliefs of their victims, mainly Cathars. The Dominican Jean-Jacques Percin obtained the registers and documents concerning the history of his order, the Preaching Friars of Toulouse, known as the Jacobins. Summary of the main chapters: History of the Jacobins convent in Toulouse. Details on the war against the Cathars. Their errors and the various condemnations brought against them. The punishments that were justly inflicted upon them and the holy war to destroy them. The Holy Inquisition. The first martyr inquisitors who came from the Order of Preachers of Toulouse. The noble families of Toulouse buried in the Jacobins convent. The pagination is very fanciful, but the work is complete, collated from the two copies held by the Toulouse's library. Pages were added during printing (Hh3 and Ggg cross 1 and 2). Our copy, like one of the two in the library, has two pages numbered 9 and 38 glued together. Verso of the first is blank, and recto of the next (p. 37) is a faulty version of the preceding page 8. The binding is solid, but with scuffs on the covers and worn caps and corners. Light dampstains. Provenance: two stamps on the title page from the Pinsaguel castel, near Toulouse. -.
