This signed first edition of THE THANATOS SYNDROME (1987) was privately printed and personally signed by Walker Percy exclusively for members of The Signed First Edition Society. Beautiful gold floral and filigree design stamped in 22k gold to front-and- rear green full leather boards, as are spine titles. With three raised bands on spine; flawless, full gilt edges, sewn-in silk marker, and marbled endpapers. Frontispiece by Jim Spanfeller. Immaculate copy, as issued without dust jacket, in blue protective sleeve with unbroken silver Franklin Library seal. Presentation card signed by the publishers laid-in for attendee subscribers on the occasion of the Liberty Hill Foundation's Upton Sinclair Dinner, May 5, 2000. *Packed carefully and shipped in a box to insure arrival in pristine condition.
