Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. New York: William Morrow & Company, 1956. First edition, 1957, with a non-personalized inscription signed by the author on the front free endpaper. The story of Hartford, Connecticut's "Little Italy" along Front Street in the early 20th century, a neighborhood decimated by urban renewal. Accompanying it is a letter from Richard F. Jones, President of American Leasing Corporation, to Albert C. Jacobs, President of Trinity College, recommending the book and mentioning that it deals "with the area to be developed in the Front-Market Project", and suggesting that he "consider it required reading prior to our next Directors meeting". Orange-red covers with red cloth spine, with dustjacket. The book has some uneven fading to the top edges of the covers, otherwise very good condition with good hinges, firm text block, clean pages, no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [3.50] and is very good with some age-toning and light shelf soil, slightly darkened spine. Signed by the Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
