In the two color illustrated dust jacket reproducing Dürer's engraving Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, price clipped, and with light edge-wear. The dust jacket designed by John Heartfield, in one of his more prosaic expressions, is now preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve.

Nicolas Bentley; Peter Goffin (illustrator). Reprint of the 1952 new edition, presented in an unclipped wrapper. Bound in the publisher's cloth. The wrapper is worn, with 1.5" of loss to the tail of the spine, some loss to the lower corner and along the top edge of the front panel, and similarly to the head of the spine and one nick to the rear panel. It is age-toned and a little spotted, with discolouration along the edge of the front panel. The book itself is bruised and discoloured along the edges, at the spine ends and extremities, with some fading and toning at the joints and edges, but is otherwise bright. The hinges are a little loose. Some spotting to the endpapers, and some stains to p37 and p152, else leaves are bright. Complete with warnings printed to the endpapers and glossary at rear. A delightful 1950s example.
