Spine and upper left of front board lightly sunned; tiny Wisconsin convent name inkstamped on flyleaves and title page. Tight and nice first edition of this chronicle of Wisconsin's second-oldest city, founded by French voyageurs in the late 17th century. Laid in is a 1939 "Corrections and Additions" sheet with map on verso and also a pristine 8vo 4pp "St. Gabriel'd Centennial Celebration Program," Prairie du Chien's oldest church.
