Contents include: (1) The Chouans; (2) A Passion in the Desert / An Episode Under the Reign of Terror / A Dark Affair; (3) Z. Marcas / The Other Side of Contemporaneous History: First Episode - Madame de la Chanterie; and Second Episode - The Novice; (4-5) The Deputy from Arcis. Each volume numbered #315 from an edition limited to 1,000 copies. Contemporary brown half-leather with marbled papered boards, gilt titles and decoration to spine. Covers rubbed with light to moderate edgewear, including spots of fraying mostly at spine tips and fore-edge corners. Spines are fading, with light cracking to leather; volume three has heavier wear to spine, including a scrape at raised band exposing a thread. Spines square. Modern repair to bindings at inner hinges. Front outer hinges of volumes four and five are starting at bottom, about one inch; volume two's front outer hinge is splitting at bottom three inches. Bindings else intact, and sound through textblocks. Pages toned, texts unmarked.
