For while Josh offers Miri a gentle devotion, it is Lexy who afire stronger feelings- Lexy who is offhand, arrogant, volatile and who cultivates an aura of wickedness since he has run away from home, gambles, and boasts of other worldly indulgences. The sequence ends as they all return to college and Miri, knowing that Lexy will grow away from her, gives him up.
