Hinzu kamen Einträge aus dem Freundeskreis. Das Stammbuch des weitgereisten Matthisson zählt mit 336 handschriftlichen und bildnerischen Einträgen zu den prächtigsten Stammbüchern der Epoche. Unter den 281 Inskribenten- ein Viertel davon sind Frauen- befinden sich Goethe, Schiller, Bonstetten, Johannes von Müller, Bürger, Lichtenberg, Gleim, Klopstock, Matthias Claudius, Johanna Schopenhauer, Henriette Sonntag und viele weitere Persönlichkeiten aus Wissenschaften, Künsten und Politik. Das Stammbuch, das im Magazin der Anhaltischen Landesbücherei Dessau aufbewahrt wird, ist vollständig vierfarbig faksimiliert.
