Voyage started in Shanghai, 15th April 1938, towards the West coast of the Americas. Return via the South Pacific, leaving from Peru in 1941. Call in the Marquesas, Pago Pago. Shipwrecked on Sudest Island near Rossel Island (South East Papua), then arrival at Samarai 25th October 1941. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dr Petersen joined the New Guinea Volunteers.
