Drawing on more than twelve years of research in manuscript archives, period newspapers, and historic photograph collections, William Peterson describes the individual shipyards and shipbuilders, places them in their local and national contexts, and details the activities of 563 vessels built at Mystic. This lavish work includes 201 illustrations, including portraits and photographs of 78 vessels that were "Mystic built". A very good copy in a very good jacket with some light soiling and wear. The text is very good and clean.
