Ottima legatura settecentesca in piena pergamena rigida con titoli in oro su tassello in marocchino al dorso. Tagli spruzzati e segnacolo in seta verde. Sporadiche e leggere bruniture. Esemplare nel complesso fresco e ben conservato. Pierre Grégoire (?-1597), giureconsulto tolosano, raggiunse enorme fama in tutta Europa per la profonda scienza nella giurisprudenza civile e canonica e per l'indiscussa autorevolezza del pensiero politico. Recentemente, nell'ottica degli studi su Jean Bodin, la storiografia ha riscoperto l'importanza dell'opera del Grégoire: obbligato è il riferimento al âSyntagma juris universalisâ e soprattutto al âDe republicaâ datato 1586 (anno della prima edizione latina della République bodiniana). Quest'opera è monograficamente dedicata al tema dei benefici ecclesiastici, centrale nel dibattino dottrinale canonistico del Cinquecento.
