Paris, 1843 ; 1 vol. in-12 (17.5 x 11 cm), (4), XI, 391 pp., demi-basane noire de l'époque, dos lisse orné en long, rousseurs pâles éparses, bon état. Première et seule édition, très rare. Il existe seulement quatre exemplaires au catalogue collectif de France, et OCLC (Worldcat) ne recense aucun exemplaire aux USA. L'auteur fut, après l'annexion par Napoléon de la Hollande à l'Empire français, médecin en chef des hôpitaux militaires du Helder et du Texel. Il fut ensuite nommé chirurgien-major de la garde nationale de Paris. Cet ouvrage, écrit de façon concise, traite de tout ce qui concerne l'hygiène du soldat en temps de paix et en temps de guerre. Il semble avoir été très bien accueilli, aucun ouvrage sur l'hygiène militaire n'ayant été écrit en France depuis celui de Revolat. Un long chapitre est consacré à l'alimentation (nourriture et boisson) du soldat (pp. 202-311). La nutrition était sans doute un sujet d'intérêt de l'auteur qui avait écrit en 1822 un livre intitulé "Le parfait boulanger ou l'art de la boulangerie".
