Der nachgeborene Philipp (1655-1721)… aus dem Haus Hessen war der Begründer der Linie Hessen-Philippsthal. An der Stelle des aufgehobenen Klosters Kreuzberg ließ er ab 1685 sein Residenzschloß Philippsthal errichten, nach Beendigung seiner militärischen Karriere lebte er jedoch im Haag. Die vorliegende Reinschrift der Aufzeichnungen über Einnahmen und Ausgaben vom 1. Januar bis 31. Dezember 1682 wurde am 20. Juni 1683 in Hersfeld bestätigt und am Ende der beiden Teile eigenhändig vom Fürsten unterzeichnet. Im ersten Teil mit dem Titel "Rechnung über Innahm und Ausgabe Geld" (49 Blatt) ist als wichtigste Einnahme das "Deputatgeld" aus der Fürstlichen Rentkammer zu Kassel verzeichnet. Detailliert sind die Ausgaben für den Fürstlichen Hofstaat und den Marstall angegeben: für "Crahmwaren", für den Schneider, Hutmacher, Knopfmacher, Schuster, Kürschner, Schreiner, Schlosser, Fenstermacher, Drechsler, Messerschmied, Blechschmied, Kupferschmied, Zinngießer, Wagner, Sattler, Büchsenmacher, Buchbinder, Bürstenbinder und Silberschmied, für Silbergeschirr und Eisenwerk, dann die "Zehrungskosten", die Ausgaben für Reisen nach Herleshausen und Schmalkalden, den Ankauf von Pferden, Heu und Stroh, Korn und Früchten (darunter Zitronen), Holz und Kohlen, Wein und Bier, Apothekerwaren und vieles mehr. Im zweiten Teil mit dem Titel "Geld Rechnung des Hoff Biengartens de Anno 1682" sind genannt etwa Ausgaben für die Besoldung "uff die Vorraths Personen" und des Gesindes, für die Pacht, für verschiedene Handwerker, für Hausrat, Rindvieh, Schweine und Schafe.
