From the 8-volume "Le Antichita di Eroclano Esposte" (Antiquities of Herculaneum Exposed) on the excavation of the city Herculaneum and the antiquities found within, "sponsored" by Charles VII of Naples and published between 1757-1792; copies of the volumes were never sold, but were gifted to a select few. Print hinged in archival acid-free mat with hand-inked rules around mat window. Print: 12.25 x 9 in; sheet: 18.75 x 14 in; mat: 21.5 x 17.5 in. Near fine example. Light horizontal fold; pair of slight tears at bottom left edge, not affecting print; edges otherwise crisp.
