Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. These two volumes are the author and publishers own working copies for his famous pocket road guides. The volumes not only contain the index which contains the author's own amendments but also has the master copy of each of the 160 maps. The first volume contains the first 80 maps wh…ich have been stuck to blank sheets by the author with each separate description being also a-fixed. Additionally the first volume contains Bradshaw's Map Guides to Edinburgh, Glasgow, The Lake District, Plymouth and Torquay. Volume Two is similarly constructed, containing the original second 80 guides with Bradshaws Plans of Birmingham, Hull, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield an the tourist guide map to the Isle of Wight together with Bradshaw's Railway Station and Guide Map to The Environs of London25 Miles Round. The books are in exceptionally good condition and really belong in a museum. They are a unique memorial of early cycling. Both volumes have been recently rebound in mustard coloured buckram with leather titling pieces making them a very handsome set indeed. Signed by Author(s).
