Lister was a blacksmith and ironworker, as well as publisher, with some of his ironwork appearing the King's College Chapel, among other locations (see Wikipedia). GOOD jacket on a VERY GOOD book. Heavy chipping and tearing to the jacket along the extremities, with some creasing. Minor soiling. Light fading and edgewear to the book.

Mayfield" (unable to confirm whose handwriting). John S. Mayfield was a noted collector of Swinburne, Lord Byron, Mark Twain, and others. (2) Autograph Letter Signed by Chanter, to Mr. Mayfield, 17 June 58, mentioning that Philip Gosse told "me of your very kind message, I am so glad you like my poems". With hand-addressed envelope to Mayfield. (3) "A Rose", 8-line poem on single sheet hand-written and signed by Chanter - poem included in Saltfleet. (4) 2-page autograph letter signed by Chanter, to Mayfield, 30 July 58, thanking him for his "charming letterI was interested to hear that you had not met Philip Gosse," with postscript about just "coming across the poems of Ralph Hodgson".; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 25 pages; Signed by Author.
