In the 1950s he moved to Ticino. Today he works in the Lugano atelier. His exhibition activity began in the 1950s in Rome, where, after a study stay, he joined the «Young Roman painters» group. Having subsequently moved to Ticino, he presented his informal naturalistic research in 1961 at the Galleria La Cittadella in Ascona. With the need to overcome this experience, between the end of the 1950s and the 1960s, he undertook a series of trips to countries such as India, Thailand, North Africa and America. After a stay in New York in 1969, he reworked the theme of landscape, working on a line that increasingly became an expressive sign. In the 1970s he founded, with other artists, the «Movimento 22», later joining the Society of Swiss Painters, Sculptors and Architects, now Visarte.
