Hardcover. Condition: Good. A Presentation of Free Will Baptist Beliefs The purpose of this book is to expound and amplify our formal doctrinal statement as contained in the Treatise. Some books just have to be written. This is such a book. Since the rebirth of the National Association of Free Will Baptists in 1935, there has been no expanded presentation of our doctrinal position. We had only the formal statement of our Treatise. As a result, there was a growing awareness that our doctrinal statement needed to be discussed in language easily understood by the layman. Dr. J. D. O'Donnell is well qualified to write such a book. A lifelong Free Will Baptist from the state of Alabama, he holds a Th.D. degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. For four years he was professor of Bible and Pastoral Training at Free Will Baptist Bible College, Nashville, Tennessee, during which time he taught frequent courses on Free Will Baptist doctrine. Dr. O'Donnell became President of Oklahoma Bible College at Norman, Oklahoma, in 1965. The purpose of the book is obvious - to expound and amplify our formal doctrinal statement as contained in the Treatise. To assist the reader, the statements of the Treatise are included. For logical chapter divisions, some sections of the Treatise have been rearranged. When this occurs, it has been clearly indicated. Questions are included at the end of each chapter for the purpose of review and discussion. In a day of change, when little emphasis is given to Bible doctrine, I trust that this book will serve to strengthen and preserve the "faith once delivered to the saints." I heartily commend it to every Free Will Baptist for careful study. BILLY A. MELVIN, Executive Secretary National Association of Free Will Baptists.
