Di particolare interesse nel volume I la parte numismatica sulla monetazione veronese (pp. 269 sgg.) e nel vol. II, parte II la sezione dedicata ai pittori, scultori e incisori veronesi (pp. 191 sgg.), la riproduzione xilografica di antichissime iscrizioni (pp. 238-242) e la bella tavola con il ?Disegno che dimostra le reliquie e struttura del teatro antico de? Veronesi? "Fra il 1745 e il 1749 il Biancolini pubblicò la sua prima opera d'erudizione: l'edizione critica, commentata e farcita d'ogni genere d'annotazioni e di aggiunte, della importante cronaca volgare veronese di Pier Zagata (Cronica della città di Verona descritta da Pier Zagata ampliata e supplita,annessovi un Trattato della moneta antica veronese, I, Verona 1745; II, ibid. 1747; II, 2,Supplementi, ibid. 1749). Il testo edito nel primo volume era basato su un solo codice, del quale però veniva rispettata l'ortografia: "per nulla toglierle della pregevole e veneranda antichità" (p.
