Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 12mo. Contemporary mottled calf binding. 5 raised bands, gilt ruled. All edges red. Good binding and cover. 2, 319, [1]; [2], 4, 60 [i.e. 62] pages. Clean, unmarked pages. ·FIRST EDITION of Roziere's treatise on pulmonary diseases, containing the 1st French edition of Auenbrugger's 1761 Inventum novum, first describing thoracic percussion. Neither the original version in Latin nor Roziere's translation drew much notice, and Auenbrugger's discovery was largely ignored until publication of Corvisart's version in 1808. Norman 82.
