Pas de couverture. Condition: Bon. Pas de jaquette. Pierre SIMART (1806-1857), sculpteur de sujets historiques, mythologiques. Le grand artiste aubois a travaillé pour le Louvre et les Invalides. Lettre autographe signée. 2 p. ½ (22 x 17 cm). Paris, 11 octobre 1854. Le sculpteur recommande son jeune confrère Jeanson qui « na de…ressource que dans son travail et ce travail lui manque quand tant dartistes qui certes ne le veulent pas, obtiennent des travaux pour le Louvre. Et dailleurs tous les artistes ont des travaux en ce moment, mais Jeanson est une exception. Jen cherche en vain la cause car ce jeune statuaire mérite sous tous rapports dêtre encouragé ». Un Jeanson, élève sculpteur, candidat au prix de Rome, est référencé dans : Sybille Bellamy-Brown, Procès-verbaux de lAcadémie des beaux-arts, tome 8 (1845-1849), Paris, École des Chartes, 2008. Un « Janson » (sans le "e"), sculpteur, est référencé à Troyes, la ville de naissance de Pierre Simart, en 1859.
