LOUIS: Réflexions sur l'opération de la hernie. Ce mémoire occupe les pages 442-507. Louis étudie les points suivants : préparation et position du malade lors de l'intervention, incision de la peau, incision du sac herniaire, controverse sur l'incision du sac herniaire, dilatation de l'anneau, incision de l'anneau, réduction du sac herniaire, utilité des purgatifs, opération de Pigray, cas mémorable par feu M. Petit, appareil et bandage. Il y ajoute des réflexions sur les moyens d'obtenir la réunion de l'intestin.
