Überaus früher und seltener Katalog des berühmten Instrumentenbauers, in dem er 610 wissenschaftliche Instrumente und Apparate anbietet, zwar ohne Abbildungen, aber mit Preisangaben. Er ist unterteilt in die Kapitel Mechanik, Hydrostatik, Pneumatik, Hydraulik, Meteorologie (Barometer, Thermometer), Hygrometer, Kalorik, Elektrizität, Optik, Apparate zur Phantasmagorie, Instrumente für die Mineralogie, mathematische und geodätische Instrumente, Waagen, Desinfektion der Luft etc. Unter den angebotenen Instrumenten sind mehrere ausführlich beschriebene u.a. von J.-A. C. Charles konstruierte Instrumente, darunter eine hydrostatische Waage, ein Barometer und eine Lampe von Gay-Lussac, zwei Hygrometer von Saussure, eine Lampe von Davy, ein Thermometer von Wedgewood, wissenschaftliche Apparate von Laplace, Papin, Franklin, Rumford, Coulomb und mehrere von Volta. - Der berühmte Pariser Instrumentenbauer Nicolas Constant Pixii (1776-1861) war einer der seinerzeit besten und produktivsten Hersteller von physikalischen Apparaten. Besondere Berühmtheit erlangte er durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Ampère. "Ampère also interacted intensely with the Paris instrumentmaker Nicolas Constant Pixii (1776-1861), without whose experience and ideas he hardly would have acquired his new apparatus and technologies" (Oxford Handbook of the History of Physics). - Von vereinzelten Stockflecken abgesehen sauber und sehr gut erhalten.
