Tipped to blank leaf facing title page is a unique frontispiece, a Typed Letter Signed from Planck, 1p, 8½" X 11", St. Louis, MO, 12 January 1973. Addressed to Arnold F. Gates (1914-93, noted Lincoln scholar). Cordial letter from Planck, a well-known book reviewer in the Lincoln world, chatting about the "Lincoln Herald" and its editor R. Gerald McMurtry. Boldly signed in full.
