Pamphlet. Condition: Very Good. no date, presumed mid 1900s. Small booklet, 8 pp. Stereotype illustration of an African American woman on the front cover. A brief account of the origin of the praline and its name, while attributing the recipe for the pralines sold at the Green Orchid to the author's African American "mammy." Leda Hincks Plauche was an artist known for costume designed for the Mardis Gras Ball and Parade. She also owned the Green Orchid, a gift shop in New Orleans. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning and wrinkling.
