He was also the founder of the Green Way Commune - a community of revolutionaries, artists, members of the German Communist Party, etc. The Nazis would ban his works and he would flee to Moscow in 1933 and his citizenship would be revoked a year later. It has been noted by critics that he did an astounding amount of research for all his works, on top of his own notes and recollections. In the original German edition of the current book, published in 1932, the citation section at the end listed fifty reference sources, which had been consulted for historical accuracy.…
