Front shows girls on bicycles on a country road, and a young child steering a sailing ship with aeroplanes above. First story is Chapter 1 of "Sandy and Helen" by Ruth Ainsworth. Colour frontis and one other colour plate, b/w and two-tone text illustrations and two black and white plages. 239 pages. Cloth spine is lightly browned. Pictorial paper boards are edge-rubbed. Name & address written in ink to free front endpaper. Hinge between page 60 and 61 is pulled wide exposing cloth beneath and therefore colour plate is partly detached at bottom.
