Alberto Pollera (Lucca, 5 dicembre 1873 - Asmara, 6 agosto 1939) frequentò l'Accademia di Modena ed entrò come Sottotenente nell'89° Reggimento Fanteria. Partecipò alla campagna d'Africa 1895-96, combattè ad Adua, e nel 1903 divenne Commissario del Gasce e Setit a Barentù. Passato alle dipendenze del Ministero degli Esteri prima e delle Colonie poi, divenne nel 1909 Commissario Regionale del Seraè, per poi essere nominato Segretario Generale del Governo d'Eritrea. Fu Console a Dessié e Gondar e nel '29 partecipò come Comandante in seconda alla spedizione scientifica del Barone Franchetti in Dancalia. Molte le sue pubblicazioni, anche come Socio Corrispondente dell'Accademia Lucchese di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, in cui evidenziò la sua conoscenza trentennale dei problemi africani e coloniali. 800 gr.
