Contact seller5-star sellerPoor condition. Ex-library copy; first edition (as stated upon copyright page) in poor condition. From a segregated Mississippi public library and stamped "Evans Memorial Library | Colored Branch | Aberdeen, Mississippi" on the title page. 136 pages. Hardcover; H 20.25cm x L 13.75cm. Lacks dust jacket. Red cloth but with spine a…nd adjacent edges of boards backed in dark brown binding tape, hand lettering in faded white ink along spine tape, boards well rubbed and worn at edges particularly at corners. Library number handwritten in ink at bottom of dedication page; top corner of pages 109/110 torn out but with no loss of text; date due sheet and library pocket affixed upon rear endpapers. A poor copy but an interesting relic of Mississippi's staunch support of segregated facilities and a rather ironic title to select for a segregated library since the Southern plantation is most often associated with African American enslavement.
