The first four volumes of a spy story, published in Philadelphia by the important Ukrainian émigré journal *Kyiv*. Volume 1 contains a two-page introduction, title page, and return envelope stamped with *Kyiv's* Franklin Street address. The introduction gives subscription information as well as a bit of information about the story. While making it clear the subject of the story was no friend of the Ukrainian people, they do not give his name: Karol ?wierczewski. ?wierczewski was apparently an incompetent and alcoholic Soviet General who died in Poland in 1947, ambushed by members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. His death is illustrated on the cover of each volume. Seemingly rare. While we admit that our Ukrainian isn't flawless, we have been unable to locate another issue of this serialized spy novel, or to confirm that volumes 5-8 were even published.
