C?est de cette tribu qu?appartenait le fameux Imru al-Kays qui fut le plus grand poète de l?Arabie pré-islamique ; c?est sous l?impulsion de ce dernier et des Kinda que les Arabes réalisèrent leur union pour un siècle et que la langue arabe se développa et devint, sous une forme plus unifiée, la langue de la communauté tout entière ; premier phénomène d?unification qui prendra sa vraie mesure lors de l?avènement de l?Islam. Il me semble que quelque chose de cette histoire se retrouve dans la vocation de cette Fondation qui voudrait faire connaître le langage pictural des artistes arabes de notre époque, montrer tout à la fois son particularisme et sa portée universelle.
