FIRST EDITION IN CLOTH, preceded by the paperback original of the same year (published by Pocket Books). THIS COPY SIGNED BY THE EDITOR, GERALD WENDT, on the title page. An account of the development of the atomic bomb, including its recent use at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, with a discussion of the potential and dangers of continuing to develop atomic energy.
