[NEW YORK] [RAILROAD]. First edition. 8vo. 8" x 5" color, pictorial wrappers, n. p. (32 pp.), illustrated. The Poughkeepsie & Eastern Railroad begins at the city of Poughkeepsie, New York, and makes good connections with trains and steamers touching at Poughkeepsie. From Poughkeepsie the road runs in a northeasterly direction diagonally across Duchess County traversing nearly its whole length with its northern terminus being Boston Corners. This village is situated at the extreme northern limit of the county, and almost at the spot where the three states, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut join. Some scenes and villages along the route are Pleasant Valley, Bowers Lake, Salt Point, Clinton Corners, Upton Lake Park, Willow Brook, Stanfordville, Stissing, Pine Plains, and Acram Lead mines. Also included is information on fishing and a list of the hotels, boarding houses and farm houses that are available to take summer boarders. The location, name of the owner, number of guests that can be accomodated, and the rates for both adults and children. Staples showing rust internally, white covers lightly soiled, else a near fine, clean copy.
