A limited edition set of English translations of works by eminent French writers. 8 Volumes out of 10 in the Comédie D'Amour series. Eight of ten volumes from the Comédie D'Amour series, each illustrated with frontispiece. This limited edition series is comprised of English translations of esteemed 18th and 19th century works by French authors such as Alexandre Dumas, Gustave Flaubert, and Émile Zola. In bright red cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the boards, a little more rubbed to the front board of the History of Manon Lescaut and The Love Episode. Rubbed at the spines causing a discolouration of cloth and gilt lettering, although gilt remains bright on Madame Bovary. Light bumping to the heads and tails of the spines, generally worse at the heads, with a little wear to the extremities. The front hinge to Sapho starting. Internally, generally firmly bound. A little tender at page 78 and 79 of the History of Manon Lescaut. Pages generally bright clean, with some light spotting to the first and last few pages. Very Good. book.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. ] Hardbacks, maroon cloth (white spine labels printed in gilt, red and blue), VG to VG+/no dustjackets. Very light rubbing at corners and spine-ends. A few minor cover blems, one small cover spill. One bottom edge is bumped. Red has largely faded from the spine labels, but the authors and titles are in blue and quite legible. One spine label has a bit of chipping to its side, another has a vertical crack. Interiors generally quite clean. Top edges gilt, bottom edges untrimmed, some tanning to fore-edges (some fore-edges remain unopened). Volumes range from around 200 to 400 pages each, but paper thickness altered from volume to volume, so each book appx 1 1/4 inches thick. Illustrated with engravings. Limited and Numbered 208/500.
